What sign can you do?

John 6:30-35 If I wasn't in the same boat as these sinners following Jesus I would probably be laughing right in their face. I often wonder how Jesus kept from rolling on the grass laughing at what some people do. Today we hear the crowd ask Him, "What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you? What can you do?..." Is this not the same crowd who in verse 2 we are told - "followed him, because they saw the signs he was performing on the sick ."? Are these not the same people who in verse 14 " when they saw the sign he had done, they said, "This is truly the Prophet, the one who is to come into the world."? Yet still they seek a sign. However, they are not seeking a sign so that they might believe, they are wanting to be fed. Jesus worked a "sign" with the loaves and the fishes and now they want Him to do it again. Wisely, Jesus is using their bellies to get to their hearts; He is using earthly things to move them,

Catherine and Kurt Update

For those of you still following Catherine...she had a few appointments yesterday. She got her hearing rechecked after a few failed tests while she was in the hospital. While she does have some mild hearing loss, it appears that it's something that can be treated and or grown out of (fluid, wax, small ear canals). She will visit an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist in the future to diagnose what exactly it is. She also went to the neonatology clinic and she weighed in at 9 lbs. That's about 25 grams a day she has been gaining since she was discharged. Everyone was happy with that! They are now allowing her to breastfeed for 3 feeds a day instead of two and we are continuing to go up on her volume. She is working hard on gaining more strength in her neck muscles so she can hold her head up. However, she is not working very hard on getting her brothers to love her and give her lots of attention, she doesn't need to! They love to kiss her and make her smile, and now laugh.

Please continue to keep Kurt in your prayers...here's an update from the CaringBridge site.

He smiled all morning =) and laughed at Mrs. Lisa and Mr. Larry. Still in some pain from PEG tube but overall, wonderful day for Kurt. It was great to see him in good spirits today. Went for MRI in the afternoon. Pray he can get a good night's rest.

Thank you for your prayers as we continue to pray for all of you!
