Washing Feet: An Example of Service or Something More?

Jesus Washing Peter's Feet by Ford Madox Brown 1852-6 So, during supper, fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power and that he had come from God and was returning to God, he rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and dry them with the towel around his waist. - John 13:2-5 Today, in 2024 A.D., we don't give much thought to these few sentences. The impact of the activity of Jesus is lost on us because a) We wear shoes everywhere. Many of us even have "inside shoes" and "outside shoes". b) The Church's liturgy (as popularly practiced) often misses or lessens the importance of this event (pro tip: it's not simply Jesus giving and example of serving others). Bid to Help Bundle Baby Bottoms

As we prepare to close our online store we contemplated a way for all of us (family, friends, clients, and customers) to help make a difference in the lives of others.   Having 8 children of our own we thought maybe diapers would be a good thing?

A program that has been dear to our hearts is the Bottoms Up Diaper Drive.  This program helps provide diapers for children in need.  It's hard to believe that such an essential part of rearing a child is often a burden for so many low income families.  Bottoms Up seeks to help bridge the gap and provide this necessary need for so many babies.

So, we decided to auction off one of our handcrafted cord-knot rosaries for Bottoms Up.  This is a one-of-a-kind rosary that you won't be able to find anywhere else.  For those Catholic Buckeye fans, it's the chance to score big.

You can bid on the rosary until January 1st just hours before the Buckeyes win the Rose Bowl (we hope).  The winning bid will get the rosary but the real winner will be Bottoms Up.

Help us send a ton of diapers to this great organization.

Also, if a wealthy individual or business would like to partner with us, we are looking for someone who may be interested in upping the game.  Maybe you'd like to match the bid up to a certain point, or match so much per point scored during the Rose Bowl, etc.  Let us know if you are interested in joining us.
