The Seasons: A Poem

Sunrise over Amazing Grasses Family Farm The mad Artist wields His brush, Painted colors rush, To life and give flush, Before the quiet autumn hush. The life seems to pour, As colors fall to the floor, To be seen no more, Outside the dark, grey door. Brightness from below, Sun upon the snow, High, cold clouds blow, Flakes and ice appear to grow. The man melts with little seen, Underneath, pale, grey green, Hides life in dark unseen, Waits for warmth and to careen. Buds on branches show, Patience starts to grow, Trickles, streams and veins flow, Bringing fruits of melted snow. Sprung to life it springs, Bees, birds, sound rings, Lush green flings, Its gift bounty brings. Green growth gives one last rush, Underneath the Painter's brush. The mad Artist wields His brush, before the quiet autumn hush. More poetry is available from James M. Hahn in  The Last Dragon and Other Poems  available now. Catherine Therese

Catherine Therese was born on Friday May 2nd, 2008 at 2:22 PM (5/2 2:22). She should play the lottery.... 4lbs 7oz and 17 inches long.

There were some complications at delivery and that is what we are struggling with now. The placenta ruptured during delivery and Catherine inhaled some blood. She was not breathing when she was born but had a heart beat. I am no expert but even I could tell something was wrong because she was just limp. The doctors quickly got her breathing on her own.

We had a few minutes with her and Fr. Hahn baptized her. We took some pictures and I'll post them later.

She had problems after all that so they had to put her on a respirator before transferring her to Children's Hospital. This is where I am blogging from.

At Children's they have been working to stabilizer her and they are not too concerned with her stomach problems and in fact think it may not be duodenal atresia at all but maybe a constriction or twisting (can't remember the tech lang). Her heart looks great and we are waiting on initial results from the ultrasound of her stomach. They will not be able to do other tests until she is stabilized.

She is certainly not out of the woods yet and I continue to beg you all for your prayers.
