 Thirty Pieces of Silver - A short story and inspiration for my new novel The Greenspace.  Stephen Partridge could no longer care for his aging mother and so enlisted her in the so-called Human Renewal & Recycling Program, aka The Procedure which helps maintain The Greenspace.

In The Greenspace we are introduced to the future where nearly all humans live in redesigned cities surrounded by the vast wilderness, a wilderness that somehow powers human technology and life. Unfortunately, The Greenspace has become something of a god to mankind, a god appeased only by human sacrifice on a level never before experienced by mankind.
