The Seasons: A Poem

Sunrise over Amazing Grasses Family Farm The mad Artist wields His brush, Painted colors rush, To life and give flush, Before the quiet autumn hush. The life seems to pour, As colors fall to the floor, To be seen no more, Outside the dark, grey door. Brightness from below, Sun upon the snow, High, cold clouds blow, Flakes and ice appear to grow. The man melts with little seen, Underneath, pale, grey green, Hides life in dark unseen, Waits for warmth and to careen. Buds on branches show, Patience starts to grow, Trickles, streams and veins flow, Bringing fruits of melted snow. Sprung to life it springs, Bees, birds, sound rings, Lush green flings, Its gift bounty brings. Green growth gives one last rush, Underneath the Painter's brush. The mad Artist wields His brush, before the quiet autumn hush. More poetry is available from James M. Hahn in  The Last Dragon and Other Poems  available now. The coming storm...

"The flagship commander the Roman Pontiff standing at the helm, strains every muscle to steer his ship between the two columns, from whose summit hang many anchors, and strong hooks linked to chains. The entire enemy fleet closes in, to intercept and sink the flagship at all costs. They bombard it with everything they have: books and pamphlets, incendiary bombs, firearms, cannons.

Catholic authors, get your pens ready, pencils sharpened, and keyboards dusted. On the horizon is another "titanic" opportunity for book sales and speaking engagements.

Dan Brown's book provided many Catholic, and other Christian, authors with a great opportunity to write some books, spread the faith, and tell the truth. His book and movie combo did wonders for Opus Dei and inquiries into their approach to the faith.

I loved all the hype and attention but frankly I became just as sick of the apologetics books as I was of the words - Da Vinci Code. No doubt, the many different books did do some good and help those of us who aren't as well informed defend the truth of Christ and His Church. But it began to look more like a publishers dream than a real attempt to defend the Church.

I hope things are much different this time around. I also hope that those of us who won't be in the loop will beef-up on our Resurrection (hint) apologetics because it's looking like it might be an all out war.

So, what's the titanic opportunity I mentioned? Read on...
