Do You Love Me?

I read today's Gospel through tears of joy. I was profoundly touched by the conversation between Jesus and Peter. I was moved to tears by the gentleness and compassion Jesus shows to Peter, and to us if we but ask.  The gregarious, outspoken disciple is finally humbled by the Lord and recognizes, maybe for the first time, that Jesus truly loves him, trusts him, forgives, and forgets all of Peter's failings and weaknesses. This passage is moving but we would do well to first read the entire 21st Chapter of John, a mere 25 verses to really understand how the relationship between these two men has moved to an entirely different level. John brings his Gospel to a close by taking us back to the very beginning of the relationship. Back then, Peter was out fishing all night, catching nothing, before his first encounter with the Lord. Here too, Peter, who is at this point confused, wrestling with emotions of hope and guilt, joy and sorrow, is out fishing all night catching nothing. Ag

Blizzard Pictures

What else can we do when trapped by this white death but take pictures and post them for the outside world to see? Enjoy and pray that our sanity returns.....

Okay, to be honest this picture was from a week ago. We seem to get a storm every Friday and this one ended up being mostly ice.

This too was from a week ago. The deer on the left was hurt somehow, probably a hunting accident, not that it was hunting but ....oh never mind.....

All snug on the bank before we had to chase them off for nibbling on the pines.

Okay, here we go... Friday 8:00 AM

10:00 AM

12 Noon

2:00 PM

4:00 PM

5:00 AM - Terrible thunder and lightning woke everyone up so we turned on the back lights and watched the show in the dark.

Saturday 8:00 AM - about 6 inches of snow on the ground along with sleet and ice.

Saturday 4:00 PM - I walked out to check the mail - there was none - if the mail has stopped I know we're the only ones left on the planet!!!

Our trusty sled...not going anywhere for a long time.

I don't think we could anyway. State Route 93 North in front of our house at 4:00 PM on Saturday Afternoon.

A framing square stuck in the snow drift in front of the front door on the deck. I said it was a bad storm...raining framing squares!

It's hard to see but it's about an 18 inch drift covering the front deck.

Me going out for operation "Chicken Rescue". I had to dig open the door so I could get some fresh water to them. Very dangerous, barely survived...all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...some of you may know where that came from!

The coop and barren garden in the distance.

Same coop and garden. Just a reminder that the White Witch's spell can't last forever!
