A Temple of the Holy Spirit

Daniel & Catherine ready for Confirmation I had the privilege of witnessing my son and daughter receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this past Tuesday at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Lancaster, OH. It was a wonderful Mass with a full choir, trumpets, and all the rest. During his remarks, Bishop Earl K. Fernandes mentioned that we too, like the Basilica, are temples of the Lord. It caused me to reflect on this idea. Although I've mostly seen only pictures of the great cathedrals and basilicas in the world, I have seen some amazing churches even in our own diocese. These structures are a testament to the Church's love for God (read the entire Church - Militant, Suffering, Triumphant). They represent great skill, sacrifice, and passion for Our Lord and often times His Mother.  Yet the words of Christ always echo in my mind when contemplating the beauty that surrounds me in those places; “ Do you see these great buildings? Weekend Pictures

Random pictures from the weekend. Enjoy

# 3's eye. We're still playing with the new camera as you can see (pun intended)

Been spending most my life livin' in an Amish-Catholic paradise....

Atillers the Hahn - admit it - that's good!
Here I am digging the second of three 50 foot long trenches for the 125 asparagus plants my parents gave me for my birthday. Nothing like giving a present that involves a lot of back-breaking work on the part of the recipient! Oh well, it will really be a gift that keeps on giving...for a good 20 years!

#3 loves to make wishes

My grandfather's new goat.

Some of our 38 new baby chicks - Golden Comets and Buff Orpingtons

Spring has sprung which means TICKS in our neck of the woods. This means it's time for haircuts to make the nightly routine of "tick checks" a bit easier.
Some before and after photos of #2
Looks like a completely different kid.

#1 had a hard time opening his eyes in the early morning sun on the deck. He begged me to cut his hair "like a rooster"...... mom wasn't around and well.....

.....boys will be boys..... until mom gets home!
