The Seasons: A Poem

Sunrise over Amazing Grasses Family Farm The mad Artist wields His brush, Painted colors rush, To life and give flush, Before the quiet autumn hush. The life seems to pour, As colors fall to the floor, To be seen no more, Outside the dark, grey door. Brightness from below, Sun upon the snow, High, cold clouds blow, Flakes and ice appear to grow. The man melts with little seen, Underneath, pale, grey green, Hides life in dark unseen, Waits for warmth and to careen. Buds on branches show, Patience starts to grow, Trickles, streams and veins flow, Bringing fruits of melted snow. Sprung to life it springs, Bees, birds, sound rings, Lush green flings, Its gift bounty brings. Green growth gives one last rush, Underneath the Painter's brush. The mad Artist wields His brush, before the quiet autumn hush. More poetry is available from James M. Hahn in  The Last Dragon and Other Poems  available now. Saturday evening with Catherine

Nicole and I went to visit today and we took a lot of good pictures. We both held her but she was out the whole time. I think they wear her out with changing diapers, IV lines, etc., plus newborns sleep twenty-something hours a day. I can remember Nicole having a hard time keeping our boys awake to nurse. Anyway, here are some more pictures, comments below the picture...

Baby by James, Nicole and God. Hat by Grandma Hahn.

They took the tube out of her mouth yesterday but had to put it back in. The tube drains her stomach and they will take it out when the fluid is clear. After that they will try feeding. We hope it will be sometime this week.

Daddy's Hand.

A very proud mom.

Nicole holding Catherine's hand. She (Catherine) has very long fingers.

Beautiful!
The genetic doctors told us that there is definitely some genetic material missing but it is so rare they have neither a name nor an idea of what it may mean. They want to follow her closely as she grows to see what effects, if any, it may have. I think she may super powers - the ability to soften the hearts of every person who looks upon her!

I finally decided to hold her. I was too afraid of unplugging her or something but Nicole talked me into it. I'm glad I did. It was one of the most memorable events of my life.

Thanks for the prayers!
