The Seasons: A Poem

Sunrise over Amazing Grasses Family Farm The mad Artist wields His brush, Painted colors rush, To life and give flush, Before the quiet autumn hush. The life seems to pour, As colors fall to the floor, To be seen no more, Outside the dark, grey door. Brightness from below, Sun upon the snow, High, cold clouds blow, Flakes and ice appear to grow. The man melts with little seen, Underneath, pale, grey green, Hides life in dark unseen, Waits for warmth and to careen. Buds on branches show, Patience starts to grow, Trickles, streams and veins flow, Bringing fruits of melted snow. Sprung to life it springs, Bees, birds, sound rings, Lush green flings, Its gift bounty brings. Green growth gives one last rush, Underneath the Painter's brush. The mad Artist wields His brush, before the quiet autumn hush. More poetry is available from James M. Hahn in  The Last Dragon and Other Poems  available now. Updates on Catherine

These are two emails sent out by Nicole to family. I'm posting them here for everyone else as well.

They think Catherine might have an infection somewhere. Her heart rate remains elevated, her breathing rate is elevated, and she has a low grade fever. They are giving her blood, drew some for a culture, and took a urine sample. Her incision looks good, no redness or swelling, and her belly is soft, not enlarged. Jim is with her now, he says she looks like she doesn't feel well. They think it may be a UTI. They are giving her antibiotics right now. Thanks for the prayers!

Jim just called, he says she looks a lot better now. Her heart rate is back in the 150s-160s, and her breathing has slowed, and her temp is normal. She got the blood and some anti-biotics. The results from the urine (urinalysis) did not indicate infection there. The NP thinks it might be the PICC line. From her CBC, she said that there is definitely an infection somewhere from the immature WBC count. I guess it's high. Jim said she explained it as she is just throwing immature WBCs out to fight it, not even letting them mature. She said they will know more tomorrow. Thanks again for the prayers!
