A Temple of the Holy Spirit

Daniel & Catherine ready for Confirmation I had the privilege of witnessing my son and daughter receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this past Tuesday at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Lancaster, OH. It was a wonderful Mass with a full choir, trumpets, and all the rest. During his remarks, Bishop Earl K. Fernandes mentioned that we too, like the Basilica, are temples of the Lord. It caused me to reflect on this idea. Although I've mostly seen only pictures of the great cathedrals and basilicas in the world, I have seen some amazing churches even in our own diocese. These structures are a testament to the Church's love for God (read the entire Church - Militant, Suffering, Triumphant). They represent great skill, sacrifice, and passion for Our Lord and often times His Mother.  Yet the words of Christ always echo in my mind when contemplating the beauty that surrounds me in those places; “ Do you see these great buildings? Catherine Today

They took the suction tube out today. What a difference in the way she looks! We're praying that she doesn't spit up too much and begins processing some of the fluid on her own. She had two dirty diapers in two days and that was great news! Again, here I am excited about dirty diapers....until I get home of course. Please pray that she continues to progress and can begin feeding again.

Here is Catherine's uncle Bill (Fr. William P. Hahn) holding her yesterday before the tube was taken out.

Here is Grandpa Hahn holding Catherine for the first time.

What a beauty she is. I'm glad she's making dirty diapers for you, dad.

So beautiful and delicate! I'm asking her Guardian Angel to care about the holding-not-spitting issue. Our Angels are very powerful on our body also, according to God's will, and besides, he has not much to do "spiritually" for her at the moment, so let's keep him busy!

Dear Catherine,

You are beautiful.

And you need more pink. (Don't let Daddy tell you otherwise. And maybe you should insist on sparkles too.)

We're rooting for you with the Big Guy and His Mom, just so you know. So keep on talking to your angels as you sleep so peacefully, and snuggle up to all those warm arms.

And soon, you'll be home, and those brothers will be teaching you all sorts of tricks so that you can join the tomboy action in your sparkly shoes.

Much love,
Sarah and the Ohio girls :)
