The Seasons: A Poem

Sunrise over Amazing Grasses Family Farm The mad Artist wields His brush, Painted colors rush, To life and give flush, Before the quiet autumn hush. The life seems to pour, As colors fall to the floor, To be seen no more, Outside the dark, grey door. Brightness from below, Sun upon the snow, High, cold clouds blow, Flakes and ice appear to grow. The man melts with little seen, Underneath, pale, grey green, Hides life in dark unseen, Waits for warmth and to careen. Buds on branches show, Patience starts to grow, Trickles, streams and veins flow, Bringing fruits of melted snow. Sprung to life it springs, Bees, birds, sound rings, Lush green flings, Its gift bounty brings. Green growth gives one last rush, Underneath the Painter's brush. The mad Artist wields His brush, before the quiet autumn hush. More poetry is available from James M. Hahn in  The Last Dragon and Other Poems  available now. "It is the LORD; let him do what seems good to him."
1 Samuel 3:18

Often what we want is not what is in God's plans. Often, He allows things to happen for our good, for our growth in holiness. There have been so many blessings that have come from our daughter's short life here. There have been so many prayers, so many gifts, we are humbled by the generosity of everyone, even people who don't know us but are touched by Catherine's life.

What we wanted to be thinking about right now was bringing our daughter home very soon. It has been three long months that we have hoped and prayed for the day we would bring her home, and we thought the placement of the G-J tube was our ticket out of the hospital, but it is proving not to be the case. Catherine is continuing to vomit green bileous secretions. This tells us that there is an obstruction somewhere. She will have a surgeon on Monday morning review all of her x-rays and make a decision to either go to radiology and try to open up a constricted area with the aid of x-ray or unfortunately have another surgery to fix it. It's difficult to be patient and not to be extremely frustrated. It's difficult to trust that this is part of God's plan, that this is what seems good to him.

Thank you all for your continued prayers for our family. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors, surgeons, and nurses who are caring for her. Please pray not that Catherine not have another surgery, but for God's will. My prayer for this is very weak at the moment. You all are in our prayers,
Catherine's Mom
