A Temple of the Holy Spirit

Daniel & Catherine ready for Confirmation I had the privilege of witnessing my son and daughter receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this past Tuesday at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Lancaster, OH. It was a wonderful Mass with a full choir, trumpets, and all the rest. During his remarks, Bishop Earl K. Fernandes mentioned that we too, like the Basilica, are temples of the Lord. It caused me to reflect on this idea. Although I've mostly seen only pictures of the great cathedrals and basilicas in the world, I have seen some amazing churches even in our own diocese. These structures are a testament to the Church's love for God (read the entire Church - Militant, Suffering, Triumphant). They represent great skill, sacrifice, and passion for Our Lord and often times His Mother.  Yet the words of Christ always echo in my mind when contemplating the beauty that surrounds me in those places; “ Do you see these great buildings? "I'm thinking about coming home soon..."

I just talked to Catherine's nurse, and I got her new weight for today, 3125 grams which is 6 # 14oz! Go Catherine go! She has been doing great nursing now that her feedings through the g-tube are going a bit faster, it gives her time to get hungry. She gets weighed before and after breastfeeding to give us an idea of how much she is taking. Today the scale said she took in as much as her whole feed is! And no spitting up. Unfortunately this is a long holiday weekend and I have not seen any doctors, but I am very anxious to see what they have to say about the progress she has been making this past week.


Thank you for your continued prayers for us and our family. Please also keep my parents and brother and sister-in-law in your prayers as well as everyone living in that area, as they weather Hurricane Gustav down in Louisiana. Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us.
