A Temple of the Holy Spirit

Daniel & Catherine ready for Confirmation I had the privilege of witnessing my son and daughter receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this past Tuesday at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Lancaster, OH. It was a wonderful Mass with a full choir, trumpets, and all the rest. During his remarks, Bishop Earl K. Fernandes mentioned that we too, like the Basilica, are temples of the Lord. It caused me to reflect on this idea. Although I've mostly seen only pictures of the great cathedrals and basilicas in the world, I have seen some amazing churches even in our own diocese. These structures are a testament to the Church's love for God (read the entire Church - Militant, Suffering, Triumphant). They represent great skill, sacrifice, and passion for Our Lord and often times His Mother.  Yet the words of Christ always echo in my mind when contemplating the beauty that surrounds me in those places; “ Do you see these great buildings? Catherine having some fun

Catherine is having some funny here in her "jumping jenny". She isn't in any sort of pain and we are thankful for that. We'll be heading to Philadelphia soon so we would appreciate prayers, especially to St. Lucy.

Her feast day is Sunday. If you would be so kind, we would ask you to join us in a Nine Hour Novena to St. Lucy on Sunday. As we drive, we'll be praying the prayer below asking St. Lucy to petition God for both healing and grace. We will pray this prayer once an hour for 9 hours. Thank you for all of your prayers, kind words and gestures. They mean so much to us.

SAINT LUCY, Whose beautiful name Signifies light, By the light of Faith Which God bestowed upon you, Increase and preserve His light in my soul, So that I may avoid evil, Be zealous in the performance Of good works, And abhor nothing So much as the blindness And the darkness Of evil and sin. Obtain for me, By your intercession With God, Perfect vision For my bodily eyes And the grace to use them For God’s greater honor And glory And the salvation of souls. St. Lucy, Virgin and martyr, Hear my prayers And obtain my petitions. Amen.
