The Seasons: A Poem

Sunrise over Amazing Grasses Family Farm The mad Artist wields His brush, Painted colors rush, To life and give flush, Before the quiet autumn hush. The life seems to pour, As colors fall to the floor, To be seen no more, Outside the dark, grey door. Brightness from below, Sun upon the snow, High, cold clouds blow, Flakes and ice appear to grow. The man melts with little seen, Underneath, pale, grey green, Hides life in dark unseen, Waits for warmth and to careen. Buds on branches show, Patience starts to grow, Trickles, streams and veins flow, Bringing fruits of melted snow. Sprung to life it springs, Bees, birds, sound rings, Lush green flings, Its gift bounty brings. Green growth gives one last rush, Underneath the Painter's brush. The mad Artist wields His brush, before the quiet autumn hush. More poetry is available from James M. Hahn in  The Last Dragon and Other Poems  available now. Catherine's First Swim

Tired of wasting money on the little blow-up kiddie pools we decided to invest in an above ground pool. It took a little work and a lot of money (for us) but the pool is now up and being enjoyed .... a lot. I hope to build the deck this week around a quarter of the pool and get rid of the step ladder on the outside of the pool. Anyway here are pictures from Catherine's first time in the pool. She loved it.

We're having daily swimming lessons since the boys either can't swim or aren't yet strong swimmers. They have to wear life vests when they are getting individual attention. The pool is 48" deep and 18' diameter.

Catherine floating in her tug boat.

Needless to say, the boys love it too.

Catherine and mom having a good time!

Time to get out, dry off and warm up.

Where's Daniel during all of this? Oh yeah, dad's watching him...... and things are not going too well as you can see by his little expression.....

Thanks so much for letting Parker swim with the boys yesterday! He had a blast! Just this year he has become comfortable with the water. Glad the kids are enjoying it!
