The Seasons: A Poem

Sunrise over Amazing Grasses Family Farm The mad Artist wields His brush, Painted colors rush, To life and give flush, Before the quiet autumn hush. The life seems to pour, As colors fall to the floor, To be seen no more, Outside the dark, grey door. Brightness from below, Sun upon the snow, High, cold clouds blow, Flakes and ice appear to grow. The man melts with little seen, Underneath, pale, grey green, Hides life in dark unseen, Waits for warmth and to careen. Buds on branches show, Patience starts to grow, Trickles, streams and veins flow, Bringing fruits of melted snow. Sprung to life it springs, Bees, birds, sound rings, Lush green flings, Its gift bounty brings. Green growth gives one last rush, Underneath the Painter's brush. The mad Artist wields His brush, before the quiet autumn hush. More poetry is available from James M. Hahn in  The Last Dragon and Other Poems  available now. Catherine Update

It still amazes us to look at Catherine and watch her actually eat. After having five typical kids, eating was definitely something I took for granted.

She weighed the same this week, 23 lbs. 13 oz. so we are still keeping the one tube feed around for awhile longer. Yesterday we had a couple of firsts. She ate a whole piece of toast with butter and melted cheese, usually she eats just half. This morning she ate a whole piece of peanut butter toast. Yesterday she ate red beans and rice, and she let me spoon feed her most of it! I'm guessing she was feeling sorry for me trying to finger feed it, messy! Last week she started showing slightly more interest in the cup. She actually leaned forward, mouth open, and let me put it in her mouth, but no drinking yet. Slow steady progress.

Thanks for your continued prayers and support! We pray for all of you.

Clearly the tube weaning program was the right move. It will be great when she can just eat and no tubes. I guess eventually they'll remove the implant?
