The Seasons: A Poem

Sunrise over Amazing Grasses Family Farm The mad Artist wields His brush, Painted colors rush, To life and give flush, Before the quiet autumn hush. The life seems to pour, As colors fall to the floor, To be seen no more, Outside the dark, grey door. Brightness from below, Sun upon the snow, High, cold clouds blow, Flakes and ice appear to grow. The man melts with little seen, Underneath, pale, grey green, Hides life in dark unseen, Waits for warmth and to careen. Buds on branches show, Patience starts to grow, Trickles, streams and veins flow, Bringing fruits of melted snow. Sprung to life it springs, Bees, birds, sound rings, Lush green flings, Its gift bounty brings. Green growth gives one last rush, Underneath the Painter's brush. The mad Artist wields His brush, before the quiet autumn hush. More poetry is available from James M. Hahn in  The Last Dragon and Other Poems  available now. Book Giveaway For My Readers

Win this Book! (rosary not included)
A good friend of mine recently recommended that I read St. Louis de Montfort's True Devotion to Mary: With Preparation for Total Consecration. Last night I read this powerful quote from the book, "This last is the thought of a Saint, who adds, that as respiration is a certain sign the body is not dead, the frequent thought and loving invocation of Mary is a certain sign the soul is not dead by sin."

Other fantastic quotes I have highlighted include:

  • She is His mysterious canal; she is His aqueduct, through which He makes His mercies flow gently and abundantly.
  • God has given her the power and permission to fill with Saints the empty thrones from which the apostate angels fell by pride.
Do you have a deep devotion to Our Lady? If not, why not? As she said to St. Juan Diego, “Am I not here, I, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need anything more? Let nothing else worry you, disturb you.”

As we rapidly approach both the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and Ash Wednesday (February 22nd, 2023), I can think of no better time to grow in devotion to the Queen of Heaven, the Immaculate Conception, the Woman Who will Crush the Serpent's head.

To help us grow in our love for Our Lady and in turn, her Son, I would recommend reading St. Louis de Montfort's excellent book. Did you know that he wrote it and placed it on a shelf. It was discovered over 100 years later and then published. It has stood the test of time and has been recommended by many Saints and Popes.

To further help you grow in your love for the Blessed Mother, hopefully in some small way, I am giving away a copy of my book Rosary Meditations for Real Life.
